As the Senior Vice President (SVP) of Cybersecurity, Sean Harris plays a crucial role in leading and implementing the vision of the Intelligent Technical Solutions (ITS) cybersecurity initiatives. His responsibilities include collaborating with ITS’s Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to help ITS become more secure and working directly with clients around their cybersecurity.
Sean is heavily involved in incident response management, managing the ITS security operations center (SOC), client compliance evaluations, design, and consulting through virtual Chief Security Officer (vCSO/vCISO) services. He believes in comprehensive risk assessments to inform decisions and ensure data-driven decision-making.
Sean is dedicated to life-long education, holding multiple degrees, including a Master of Business Administration, a double Bachelor’s in Business Management and Risk Management and Insurance, along with over 20 industry-leading certifications and designations such as the Project Management Professional (PMP: PMI), Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP: ISC2), Certified Cloud Security Professional (CSSP: ISC2), and the Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) designation.
More recently, Sean has received the CompTIA CySA+ and Pentest+ certifications along with the CMMC-related registered practitioner (RP) and Certified CMMC Professional (CCP) certifications. Sean continues to expand his learning as he is currently working on a second Master of Science, Cybersecurity and Information Assurance degree, which is due to be completed in early 2025. Sean believes that its critical to stay informed and educated to help clients and to train and mentor others.
With a background in running his own organization for over 15 years prior to joining ITS, he brings a pragmatic approach to cybersecurity, finding fulfillment in helping work with organizations and individuals to secure the world from bad actors and criminal enterprises.
When he is not studying or working, Sean spends time with his wife of over 10 years, two boys, five chickens, and a cat in Sacramento, the capital of California.
