CynergisTek report found that HIPAA conformance among healthcare organizations declined by 2 percent in the last year. And many healthcare providers are still performing well below what’s needed to address risk.
Specifically, the report determined an average of just 47 percent conformance with NIST, and more concernedly, about 72 percent with HIPAA. That means about 28 percent of organizations do not conform to HIPAA, especially around breach detection.
